Minichamps F1 Models – diecast tradition from Aachen

Minichamps is a German collectable model brand. Paul Günter Lang founded the company in Aachen in 1990 as Paul's Model Art and renamed it Minichamps in 1996. The brand is best known for 1:18, 1:43 and 1:64; besides cars it makes motorcycles and helmet models, and it is strong in Formula 1 history.

What you will find

  • Mick Schumacher's Haas VF-21 from the 2021 Belgian Grand Prix in 1:18.
  • Daniel Ricciardo's McLaren MCL36 from the 2022 Bahrain Grand Prix in 1:43.
  • George Russell's Mercedes-AMG W13 E from the 2022 Bahrain Grand Prix in 1:43.

2022 was the first year of new technical rules that brought back ground-effect downforce, so the Bahrain 2022 models capture the first race of this generation of cars.

Why Minichamps

Classic Minichamps models are diecast – heavier and more durable than resin models, with well-executed liveries. They suit collectors who want a long-lasting model of a particular driver or season. Minichamps also has a resin Evolution line. Minichamps helmet models of Valentino Rossi are in Helmet models, more F1 cars in Formula 1 Models, and detailed resin models in Spark F1 Models.

The differences between brands are summarised in Spark vs Minichamps vs Bburago.

Frequently asked questions

Why are there so few models in the collection?
The Minichamps range changes with what the manufacturer currently supplies, often limited runs. We add new pieces regularly.

How big are 1:43 and 1:18 models?
Divide the real car's length by the scale. A 4.5 m car is about 10.5 cm long in 1:43 and about 25 cm in 1:18. See our model car scales guide for details.
